Football trip and South Wales and South West England
October 18-23, 2024
If you are a fan of English football, nature and travel – we have created a special trip for you that combines all of these together. Three football matches from the second to fourth leagues are combined into six days of a guided group trip between beaches, picturesque villages, green nature and ancient historical sites. In England, they say: It doesn't get much better than that.
Friday, 18.10: London – Stonehenge – Lacock – Newport
We will meet in the morning in central London, board a minibus and begin our special journey of experiences. We will travel west to visit Stonehenge, the historic site of the giant stones, one of the most famous in Europe. From there we will continue for a tour and lunch in the ancient village of Lacock. Towards evening we will arrive at the hotel in Newport (Wales). We will settle in and head to Rodney Parade Stadium for our first football experience of the journey: Newport County – Chesterfield (League 2). Fourth League, a Welsh team against an English team, a warm and local atmosphere!

Saturday, 19.10: Newport – Caerleon – Cardiff
We will start the day at the Roman fort of Caerleon. From there we will continue to nearby Cardiff for our second football experience on the trip: Cardiff City – Plymouth Argyle (Championship). After the match we will go for a walk in the Welsh capital, including a visit to the city center and the impressive Cardiff Castle.

Sunday, 20.10: Bristol – Bath – Padstow
We will spend the morning in Bristol, including a panoramic tour of the city, a visit to the old ship "SS Great Britain", and a walk in the bustling historic port area. In the afternoon we will arrive in nearby Bath. We will walk from the Royal Arch to the city center and visit the Roman Baths. In the afternoon we will travel southwest and arrive at a hotel in the town of Padstow, near the seafront in the county of Cornwall. We will settle in and in the evening we will go for a walk and eat in the charming town.

Monday, October 21: Trip around Cornwall
In the morning we will drive from Padstow to Lands-End, the most westerly point in England, where we will walk around the stunning cliff views above the sea. From there we will continue to St Michael's Mount, an ancient castle built on an island near the coast. We will have lunch and take advantage of the low tide hours to walk to visit the castle on the island. We will end the day with a trip and dinner in the town of Port Isaac, and return to the hotel in Padstow.

Tuesday, 22.10: Tintagel – Dartmoor – Exeter
We will start the day with a drive to Tintagel. We will visit Tintagel Castle, the famous castle and heritage site from the time of King Arthur, including crossing the suspension bridge with views of the towering cliffs. We will then drive east to Dartmoor National Park, where we will visit Hightower, a towering and prominent cliff from which there is a panoramic view of the surrounding nature.
Towards evening we will arrive in Exeter, the capital of Devon. We will head to St. James' Park Stadium, for our third football experience on the trip: Exeter City – Reading (League 1). We will watch the League 3 match from the "Big Bank", the largest and loudest standing stand in England today, a unique and extinct experience, a relic of the standing stands that were once an integral part of British football culture. After the match we will arrive at the hotel in Exeter.

Wednesday, 23.10: Exeter – Cotswolds – London
We begin the last day of the trip with a walk through the heart of Exeter and a visit to the city's cathedral.
